One is the traditional city known as ‘Medina’, and the other is the modern European-influenced district known as Gueliz or Ville Nouvelle. It is the most famous ksar (a group of traditional earthen buildings surrounded by high walls) in the Ounila Valley representing the culture and architecture of southern Morocco.
